More than a decade ago, out of friendship, love for our hometown and passion to create, BROKAT was born – Bogna, Roma, Katowice and thousands of ideas! Who are we today and why should you trust us? Take a look at our studio, full of unique connections, where architecture meets jewellery, trends meets tradition, experience meets creativity, aesthetics meets functionality, where colours, concepts and temperaments fuse. We invite you inside!
Our passion is designing architecture and objects, as well as scenography and exhibitions. The name of the studio is a transformation of the first syllables of our first names (Bogna, Roma) and the name of the city in which we live and work – Katowice. Their combination creates the word Brokat, associated with something shimmering and decorative. Brokat is a direct reference to “black gold”, as coal is called in Silesia.
We use Silesian motifs in our designs, because our home region is the best source of inspiration for us. Hence, the use of real coal in our products or designs developed by processing elements taken from the industrial landscape. Hence also the cooperation with Silesian contractors and tradesmen, with locals like us, who are in love with the region.
For us, design means sincerity, openness to experimentation, lack of fixed patterns, while respecting the material, the past and our own identity.

Private, public, children's interiors
We divide the design process into 3 STAGES. After each of them we propose a meeting to present you the effects of our actions. Once the project is finalised, you will not be left alone! We will support you in coordinating the work of contractors, we will provide construction supervision. We try to surprise you positively and make your dreams come true! To do that, we need to get to know your guidelines, needs and expectations, so at the beginning of our cooperation we conduct a detailed interview.
STAGE 1 – INTERIOR CONCEPT
Getting to know the assumptions, we focus on the arrangement of the functional layout by means of projections. We create a 3D model with shots and visualisations of the interior. We prepare and select preliminary materials, equipment products and colours. After collecting all materials, we invite you to a meeting.
STAGE 2 – DETAILED DRAWINGS FOR THE VALUATION OF FURNITURE AND FINISHING ELEMENTS
We create detailed drawings for interior finishing contractors, such as carpenters, locksmiths and upholsterers. We draw projections, views and shots from the 3D model – everything that is needed to obtain the valuation of furniture and finishing elements of your kitchen, sanitary facility, dressing room or bar. We select materials and furnishings of the above mentioned contractors, such as: fronts, countertops, cabinets, handles, etc. We design to measure, according to the assumed budget, that is why in this STAGE we also start to create a preliminary list with valuations, thanks to which you will see how much your investment will cost. Of course, we continue to detail the materials from STAGE 1. Having obtained all the documentation, we then propose a meeting.
STAGE 3 – DETAILED DRAWINGS FOR A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
We prepare detailed executive drawings for the construction company. These include: projections, views and details concerning demolitions, newly-designed walls, electrical installation, tile layout, water and sewage installation or arrangement of colours on walls. Based on these drawings the construction team will carry out a renovation of your interior. We select equipment for particular rooms, such as: models of doors, tables and tables, chairs, armchairs, beds, lamps, switches and sockets, door handles, etc., as well as products and equipment for kitchen and sanitary facilities, such as: tiles, washbasins, toilet bowls, faucets, mirrors, etc. At this STAGE we further detail the list with pricing and costs, as well as materials from previous STAGES. Having a set of drawings, we invite you to a meeting.
COORDINATION OF WORKS DURING CONSTRUCTION
This service is useful before and during a renovation. We keep watch, you sleep peacefully! We coordinate the sequence of contractors’ works, i.e. we determine when a given contractor enters the construction site and make the related corrections. We watch over the proper order of finishing materials and selected products so that the renovation works go smoothly and without delays. We make a number of phone calls, emails and meetings – so that everything is ready on time!
CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION
We care about every detail, so we come to the construction site to supervise and check the progress of the contractors’ work. We will make sure that the emerging project is in accordance with the design.
