The investors wanted us to design modern clear space in a house with bright colours. A prerequisite was that it should provide for antique family furniture taken from the previous flat. The whole designing process was based on underlining their beauty.

Heavy ornamented pieces of furniture were confronted with raw industrial materials, such as polyurethane resin, concrete, cement, garden mesh and powder-coated sheet metal. Bright floor, white walls, stairs and new furniture constitute the background for the antiques. Kitchen walls were covered with magnetic paint that is ideal as information boards or a place for magnets, which the family brings as souvenirs from their travels.
